Emotion reading technology is growing, and rapidly. The Russian firm, NTechLab has created an identification tool that could soon be used by police that can identify people in a crowd and tell which emotion they are currently experiencing – anger, stress or anxiety.

Cambridge Consultants is working on a system that will enable surgeons to view a 3-D visualization of a patient’s organs by using results from MRI and CT scans. With additional information in front of them, surgeons should be able to take better-informed actions.

The team plans to miniaturize the system so that it can be implanted or worn by the patient. The current setup might not be useful for continual use. There are many hurdles to be crossed, but future is indeed exciting.
Partnership on AI expanding and reaching out
Twenty-two new organizations have now joined the Partnership on AI, with more to come in the future. These new organizations and their named representatives will support and work with the Partnership’s Board of Directors to share best practices and communicate openly about the benefits and risks of artificial intelligence research.
